새로운 시작
창세기1:1-5, 마가복음1;4-11

Title: A New Beginning
Scripture: Genesis 1:1-5 Mark 1:4-11
There was a man who was a nasty fellow with a checkered past.
Later in life he made a commitment to Christ and was baptized in a river.
The preacher said to the man, “Brother, your sins are washed away.”
He replied,”O God, help the fish.” (King Duncan, Collected Sermon).
Baptism is a powerful force in the life of Christians:
– We were baptized in Christ.
– Baptism takes us to the basics:
Water: common symbol and power of God over chaos of life. Baptism unites us.
Repentance, turning around , changing one’s mind and heart.
John the Baptizer said, ”Come and listen for God and be ready yourself for renewal.
God is calling you to a change.”
John the Baptizer gave his listeners hope and a way to enter into that hope.
“Repent, be honest and come clean. Unload fruitless patterns of behavior and abandon
clever devices for maintaining the illusion of innocence.”
What could be better news than this:
an offer to repent,
to confess,
to enter into a rite of cleansing,
to be forgiven.
Baptism is not an event of the past. It is a present fact.
It is no longer I who live but Christ.
We have been united with Christ in his death through baptism.
Through this new year, let us turn
from callousness to sensitivity; from hostility to love;
from pettiness to purpose; from carelessness to discipline; and
from fear to faith.
In Genesis 1: we read about God’s creation of light.
Light produces energy and energy provides elements of life.
Light is a powerful metaphor for the Spirit of Christ among us.
God gives us new light, new energy, the power, the Spirit of Christ.
What is important in the baptism of Jesus Christ?
Why does baptism matter?

The baptism of Jesus establishes the identity and authority of Jesus of Nazareth. His
baptism was an act of God, the divine revelation. It tells us the true identity of Jesus.
The baptism of believers establishes our identity. In Christ Jesus, we are daughters and
sons of God.
Christians are called to live out Jesus’ path of proclamation and of servanthood.
Walteer Schoedel wrote “Seven Resolutions”–7-UPS for the New Year–
These 7-ups fall under the heading of attitudes and actions.
1. The first is WAKE UP:
– Begin the day with the Lord. It is His day. Rejoice it.
2. The second is DRESS-UP:
– Put on a smile. It improves your looks. It says something about your attitude.
3. The third is SHUT-UP:
– Watch your tongue. Don’t gossip. Say nice things. Learn to listen.
4. The fourth is STAND-UP:
– Take a stand for what you believe. Resist evil. Do good.
5. Five , LOOK-UP:
– Open your eyes to the Lort. After all He gives your new life.
6. Six, REACH-UP:
– Spend time in prayer with your adorations, confessions, thanksgivings and
supplications to the Lord.
7. Finally, LIFT-UP:
– Be available to help thos in need-serving, supporting, and sharing.

What do you want to do differently for your life and for your family?
What would you like to do for our church?
What kind of contribution , commitment,or service would you like to do for Jesus Christ and
for your church in this new year?

제목: 새로운 시작
본문: 창세기 1:1-5 마가복음 1:4-11
과거행실이 별로 좋지않은 사람이 있었는데 그가 예수를 영접하고 어느 강가에서 세례를
받게되었읍니다. 세례를 주시던 목사님이, ”형제여, 이제 당신의 죄들이 다
씻어져버렸읍니다”
라고 말하니까 그가 대답합니다,” 오 하나님, 저의 죄들을 다 먹게될 물고기들을
도와주소서.”
세례는 크리스챤들에게 매우 중요합니다.
– 우리는 예수님의 이름으로 세례를 받지요.
– 세례의 물은 우리의 혼돈된 삶에대한 하나님의 능력을 나타내며, 우리를 하나로
묶어줍니다. 우리의 마음과 생각에 변화를 갖게해주며, 잘못을 뉘우치게 해줍니다.
세례요한은, “나에게로 오너라. 하나님의 말씀을 듣고 새로워지도록 하여라. 하나님께서
어러분들을 불러 변화되라고 하신다.”고 말했읍니다. 요한은 그의 말씀을 듣는 사람들에게
희망을 갖게 해주었습니다. “회개하라. 악한 행실을 버리고 정직하고 바르게 살아라.”
회개하고, 용서함을 받으며, 깨끗한 삶의 길로 가는 것만큼 기쁜소식이 더 있을까요?
회개는 과거의 일이 아니고, 현재의 사실이지요. 이제 사는것은 내가 아니고
그리스도입니다.
세례를 통해서 우리는 그리스도와 하나가된 것이지요.
금년 한해동안 우리는
무정한 상태에서부터 보다 민감하고 감수성있는태도를,
적대적인 생각과 태도로부터 사랑을 보여주는 생활로,
옹졸하게 사는데로부터 뚜렷한 목표를 갖는 변화로,
아무렇게나 사는 자세에서 벗어나서 원칙을 따라 사는 자세로,
두려움속에서 살기보다는 확신과 믿음을 갖고 살도록 태도, 생각, 삶을 바꾸도록 하십시다.
창세기 1장에 보면, 하나님께서 빛을 만드셨읍니다. 빛은 에너지를 생산하고, 에너지는 삶의
중요한 요소를 제공해주지요. 빛은 그리스도의 영이 우리와 함께계심을 강하게
나타내줍니다.
예수님의 세례는 하나님께서 주관하셨으며, 그가 누구임을 드러냅니다. 우리가
세례받는다는 것은 우리가 누구임을 드러내는 사건인것입니다. 우리는 예수 그리스도
안에서 하나님의 딸들과 아들이 되는 것이지요. 우리는 예수께서 걸으신 섬기는자의 길을
따라 살도록 부름을 받았읍니다.
월터 슈델은 “7 가지의 결심”이라는 책에서 새해에 하려고 하는 태도와 행동에 관한 결심
7가지를 제시합니다.
1. 정신 차리고 깨어있을것: 하루를 하나님과 함께 시작하라. 기뻐하라.
2. 단장하라: 항상 미소를 띄우라.
3. 입을 다물라: 혀를 조심하고 헛소문을 내지말라. 듣는 법을 배워라.
4. 일어서라: 자신이 믿는 바를 분명히하라. 악에 항거하고, 선을 행하라.

5. 위를 바라보라: 눈을 들어 주를 보라 . 그가 너에게 새로운 생명을 주신다.
6. 닿도록하라: 찬양, 고백, 감사, 호소를 주님께 드리면서 기도하는 시간을 가져라.
7. 들어 올려라: 도움이 필요한 사람들에게 봉사하고, 지원하며, 갖고있는 것을 함께
나누도록하라.

-새해에 여러분의 삶에 필요한 전환점은 무엇입니까? 새로운 변화, 어떤 새로운 일, 새로운
가능성 등.
-금년 한해에 여러분 자신이나 가정적으로 무언가 다르게 하고싶은 일은 무엇인가요?
-우리 교회를 위해 하고싶은 것은 무엇일까요?
-예수님과 우리 교회를 위해서 어떤 공헌, 헌신, 봉사를 하시기를 원하십니까?
