Title: Who is Jesus for us?
Scripture: John 10:11-18 1 John 3:16,18, 23-24
We remember that there have been many events and accidents, sometimes good and bad,
throughout our life journey. We tried to avoid unexpected events and accidents.
Sometimes we wanted to return to places where we had good memories and friends.
We all want to experience new things, changes, and to be in comfortable places and
peaceful situations.
In the Bible people tried to be away from dangers and oppressive situations to find freedom.
Sometimes they were estranged from God because they misused God-given freedom and
the results were confusion, conflict, and chaos.
But the good news was God’s action to deliver people from the bondage of evil , darkness,
and death; God’s re-creation of human life with new possibilities of freedom and fulfillment.
In the beginning of the creation by God everything was good to see because of peace, love,
trust, and harmony. Peace is a state of harmony and wholeness of all people through
sharing, respect, and equality.
When the peace of this world is broken because of self-interest and protection, greed and
indifference, discrimination, and dehumanization,there would be no harmony and wholeness
of all people through sharing, respect, and equality
We all want to be a “church” with a unifying vision- to be faithful in response to God's call.
Today, however, we as UCC have specific issues and challenges that we are facing:
leadership resource, people resource, and financial resource.
We work for our ministry, “Intercultural ministry’ through understanding. acceptance,
humility, respect, equality, and sharing. For this we need to walk together.
Jesus, the good shepherd, is the owner of the sheep and is willing to die for them. He shows
his commitment, love, care, and faithfulness.
What is true for Jesus is also true for us, Jesus’ followers.
“If you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples and you will know the truth, and the
truth will make you free(John 8:31-32)
We who follow and want to be like him have a call from God who has an extra large heart
with love, care, commitment, faithfulness of life-giving to action and responsibility.
Who is Jesus for us and for our church?

How do we respond to Jesus’ call?

제목: 예수는 우리에게 누구인가?
본문:요한복음 10:11-18 요한일서 3:16, 18, 23-24
우리가 살아온 여정을 되돌아보면, 많은 일들이 있었읍니다. 어떤 때는 좋은 일도 많았지만,
때로는 좋지않은 일이 생겼던 때도 있었지요. 가능한한 예상하지 않은 일이 생기지 않도록
노력하기도 했고요. 우리는 좋은 기억을 갖고있거나 그리운 친구들이 있는 곳으로 돌아가고
싶은 때도 많았지요.
우리 모두는 새로운것을 경험해 보고 싶어하기도 하고, 새로운 변화를추구하기도 합니다.
또는 편안한 곳에 머물고 싶고, 안정되고 평화스러운 상황 가운데서 살고싶기도 하지요.
성서에보면, 사람들이 억압 받거나, 위험한 상황으로부터 벗어나서 자유로운 곳으로 가기를
원하곤 했지요.
어떤 때는 하나님이 주신 자유를 바르게 사용하지 못해서 하나님으로부터 멀어지는가하면
혼돈과 갈등속에 휩싸이기도 했읍니다.
그런데 기쁜소식은 하나님께서 그런 사람들을 악이나 어두움 그리고 죽음의 상황에 그대로
놔 두시지 않고, 그런 상황으로부터 구해주셨다는 것입니다. 자유와 완성의 새로운 가능성을
가지고 인간의 삶을 새롭게 만들어 주신것입니다.
하나님께서 천지를 창조하실 때는 모든것이 보시기에 좋았지요. 왜냐하면, 평화스럽고
사랑스러웠으며, 신뢰할 수가 있었고, 또한 조화를 이루고 있었기 때문이지요.
참된 평화가 어떻게 이루어지는가하면, 모든 사람이 함께 나누며 살고, 서로를 존중히 여길뿐
아니라, 누구나 차별없이 균등한 기회를 줄 때 가능한 것이지요.
우리모두는 하나님의 부르심에 성실하게 반응하기위히여 비젼을 가진 교회가 되기를
원합니다.
그런데, 오늘의 연합교회들은 여러가지 문제들에 직면해 있읍니다. 즉, 지도자 결핍 혹은
부재의 문제, 교인들의 숫자가 점점 줄어드는 문제, 그리고 재정적으로 어려움을 겪고있는
문제들입니다.
우리는 상호 이해, 서로를 받아들임, 겸손, 존중, 동등성, 그리고 서로 나누며 사는 일을 실천
함으로써 서로 다른 문화들이 함께 공존하는 가운데서 목회를 해 나가고 있지요. 그러기
위해서는 모두가 함께 일해 나가야합니다

선한 목자이신 예수님은 양들을 위해서 살아가면서, 그들을 위해서는 목숨까지도 바칠
각오가 되어 있읍니다. 그는 헌신, 사랑, 돌봄, 그리고 신실함을 보여주시지요.
예수님께 옳바른것은 그를 따르는 우리들에게도 옳바라야 합니다.
“너희가 내 말을 마음에 새기고 산다면 너희는 참으로 내 제자이다. 그러면 너희는 진리를
알게 될 것이며, 진리가 너희를 자유케 할 것이다.”(요한복음 8:31-32)
예수를 따르며 그를 닮아가려는 사람들은 엄청나게 큰 마음을 갖고 계신 하나님의 부르심을
받습니다. 그는 사랑, 돌봄, 헌신, 그리고 생명을 주시는 신실함이 가득하며 우리에게 행동과
책임을 요구하십니다.
우리와 우리 교회를 위한 예수님은 과연 어떤분이신가요?
우리는 하나님의 부르심에 어떻게 응답합니까?
